Kit Kat Musical SHOCKWAVESSSS

That's right folks, the 1st Ever Youth Street Music Festival !!

Street Music do not seem very popular in this part of the world a.k.a Malaysia. So due to that, MYC wanted to be able to provide a platform and an opportunity to hone the many talents among the young people of Malaysia. One of it was giving them an opportunity to engage in music, dance, and generally in the showbiz industry.

A competition was held quite a while back for the students of the local colleges and universities. So thru this event, 11 bands were selected to be of the top finalists and were part of this glamorous night tonight here at Jaya 1. Different style of playing that range from the most common musical instruments such as drums, guitar, keyboard up till the most creative type of sound producing instruments (percussion) were heard tonight. Different groups have different forms of attracting the audience, never once there was a dull moment during the competition.

The audience tonight were really into the music that was performed on stage by every group there was. It was a lively scene to behold. I could see people dancing to some songs, or just being themselves expressing themselves thru minimum movements following the flow of the music. Some were moving around violently, jumping but I guess they too were into the songs that were played.

The deco that night featured a Christmas decoration, you could see snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, Santa Claus hanging from a pine tree branch, and many other colorful ornaments, with stage lights that were of different color bringing out the appearance of the stage giving the crowd and people around with a sense of excitement and suspense to see what's next.

The Mob!lers that night got to enjoy the food as well, pretty much sponsored by our host, MYC themselves. Very thankful for the meal that we get to taste. I personally never tasted food that's from Starbucks so tonight was my first and I am grateful for that. I got to try the Banana Chocolate cake, Chic O cheese, and a Peppermint Mocha Frappucino. The Banana cake has a rough texture on one side of it while I would say the overall has a soft appeal to my taste buds, while the Chic O cheese which consist of a puff together with a sausage wrap in between. It was a really enjoyable meal that I had, apart from the noisy background that we were in a.k.a the competition that was going on at that point (can't blame it on them since we wanted to review the event, so we had to choose a suitable spot to do so).

Apart from the bands that competed tonight at the event, there were other sides events that caught the attention of the crowd. Such were fire eating man, spontaneous dancing competition (participants from the crowd) and a rhythmic clapping competition also from the crowd. The crowd was a very spotting one as they were able to participate in those events really well, and in much enthusiasm.

I personally got involved in the dancing competition. The participants were given a song that they have to dance to, there were 3 girls and 3 guys. The MC hinted us that this was the most popular song at that point of time in the world, 890 million viewers and guess what? It was just cliches Gangnam Style. I wasn't ready to show off moves for it since I did not get into that Gangnam fever that was going at that time, so in other words I wasn't very interested to learn how to dance like someone who is riding on a horse. Anyway it turned out fun for me, although I didn't score much on the cheering part that comes from the audience.

So overall, being part of this event has been fun just listening and observing, at the same time enjoying much of the performance that was held that night. The food and and experience were great too. Priceless.
